Hone7 has vehemently refuted the claims that she came to Ghana to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. 

The American songwriter maintained that she came to Ghana solely for the music and the available collaborations.

“I don’t believe that everyone is here to support LGBTQ+ rights in Ghana you know I believe personally I came to Ghana because of the music.

“The power that the producers and musicians have here is just amazing in Afrobeats is scattered all over the country honestly,”

This she said in an interview on Kastle FM in Cape Coast.

The artiste, who is signed to international record label NMS Records and does genres that includes R&B, Hip Hop and country music, exclusively told Amansan Krakye that some artistes come to Ghana for LGBTQ+ rights activism.

“Some international or American artistes do come here to support the LGBTQ+ rights behind the scenes but I don’t have that agenda so I can’t really speak on the issue,” she claimed. 

Brittani Youman (YO-mun), also known as her artist name, “HONE7,” is an international and American singer, songwriter, producer and actress from Desoto, Texas. HONE7 was born and raised in Tatum, Texas, a small, East Texas town with a population of approximately 1300 people.

She graduated 5th of her high school class with honours and led in athletics, academics, theatre and dance.

HONE7’s music ranges across genres and reflects her variety of style influenced heavily by her Southern roots.

Her songs range from ballads influenced by Sade, Aaliyah and Erykah Badu to raps reflecting artists from Lauryn Hill to Cardi B. HONE7 is a storyteller and is passionate about inspiring others through artistic expression.

In her past life, she became the first African-American media spokesperson in 2018 for the HVAC industry-giant, Lennox, Industries founded in 1895. She competed for the title of 2015 Miss Missouri USA and is a former Division I Volleyball Player for the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
