I Deserve The Best Rapper Of The Year - Amerado on VGMA 2022

Amerado believes no one deserves to win the Rapper of the Year award at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards more than himself.

The rapper noted that everyone nominated in the category cannot win it as some deserve it more than others.

He is however very confident, from his achievements over the past year that he will emerge victorious in that category in the next edition.

“Unless people say they have forgotten about what I have done. But genuinely, I did my best as a young act to hold Ghana rap down when everything was shut down during this COVID time. And even after that, I have proven myself. I am just hoping for the best. I am not going to say every nominee deserves it. But I am going to say Amerado deserves it.”

This, he said while speaking to simply showbiz that the only way he will not win is if everyone else has forgotten his deeds for the rap genre in the past year.

Rendering his opinion on how the winner should be chosen, he maintained that the process of choosing be encompass the general works of the artiste in the year under review and not just one single song.

With this, a random person who just went viral for one single diss track will not take home the award a the expense of a rap artiste who has been working hard in that year.

Even though most people say that awards don't mean a thing, having one is a physical representation of all the hard work he has done under the year under review.

An award is what an artiste can show to his investors and sponsors as he builds his career.

“I am always a lion. I will come back stronger and win it. I will definitely win most of the Best Rapper Awards coming up.”
