Nollywood actress, Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Waturuocha popularly known as Rita Dominic is one of the most talented and gorgeous women Nigeria and even the world has ever encountered.

Rita Dominic was a guest on a TV show, where she talked about her career and evolving through the years. The 43-years old actress also talked about how she almost got married to someone but for the signs she saw.

Unfazed by societal expectations, Rita insists she will get married at her own time!

She said, 

"At the end of the day, if I’m going to be doing it, I’ll be doing it for myself and not because society wants me to do it. and I always will still say, I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man that the society dreams for me.

"Society feels that there is something wrong with you if you are at a certain age and you are not married. What if it’s the society that something is wrong with for thinking that way; for forcing someone to do what they don’t want to do or forcing them to do what they want to do but in their (society’s) own time and not the person’s time.

"I almost married someone. We were there. We were at that point but it didn’t work out and I’m happy that it didn’t work out because I saw the signs. You see signs of certain things but you just ignore it and hope the person will change.

"Look, a grown man and a grown woman cannot change. You can find a way to live with each other and respect each other’s feelings but to change a grown person… it’s difficult. They have to want to change.

Rita Dominic is one strong woman that has been able to withstand pressures from within and outside the circle of her friends and family.

She believes women shouldn’t be forced into marriage just because they are ageing or men are seriously knocking.

At the moment, the actress is not married but has played at least four bride roles in Nollywood productions.
