Tottenham Hotspurs and Harry Kane are at war after the striker went ‘AWOL’ in an attempt to force a £160million move to Manchester City.

The England captain failed to report back for duty at Hotspur Way yesterday and is insistent that Daniel Levy agreed he can leave Spurs this summer.

Kane’s ‘French leave’ is understood to have disappointed Spurs, who are set to fine the Three Lions skipper.

And the move has gone down badly with chairman Levy, who is now ready to double down on his position that he will not be bullied into lowering the asking price for his star player.

After a summer where relations between Kane and the club remained civil, things have turned ugly less than a fortnight before the Premier season kicks off.

The 28-year-old England ace is convinced he struck a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Levy which would allow him to leave.

“As far as Harry is concerned, the club have agreed he can leave.

“Now it is just a case of  the money men doing their bit.” Sun Sport reveals.

Spurs remain adamant no such agreement is in place and plan to hit their vice-captain with disciplinary action for a  breach of contract by failing to report back after his summer break.

Kane is set to be fined for every day he continues his no-show stance.

Even members of the Tottenham squad are said to have been surprised that the star, who still has three years left on his contract, took the ultimate step of refusing to turn up for work.

It is understood that Levy expected Kane to demand talks over the course of this week but was caught out by his decision to stay away.

And Spurs Chairman is demanding a huge offer in the region of £160m.

City is willing to come up with £160m, plus a choice of players, in an attempt to get a deal.

That has so far been ruled out by Levy but the centre-forward hopes his behaviour will leave the club with no option.
