Honourable Andrew Asiamah Amoako, Member of Parliament for Fomena Constituency who won on Independent ticket has finally declared and affirmed his Decision to Join the New Patriotic Party caucus in the 8th Parliament.

The current second deputy speaker made the announcement through an official statement from the Office of Parliament bearing his signature 'courtesy copied (Cc) by the Majority Leader of Parliament, Honorable Kyei Mensah Bonsu.

“I, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, an independent Member of Parliament for Fomena Constituency and now the 2nd Deputy Speaker for same Parliament do hereby declare that I shall, for the purposes of transacting business in the house associate with the NPP Caucus in the Eight Parliament;" the statement revealed.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I do hereby affirm that I shall cooperate and collaborate with the NPP Caucus in the Eight Parliament,” it added.

The independent candidate last Thursday praised God for his new mandate as the second deputy speaker of Ghana's parliament promising the people of Fomena infrastructural development as an appreciation for the honour bestowed on him.

"My people in Fomena constituency, May God bless you so much," the statement added.

"May this new appointment brings us all, hope and development and may the God of light, who is infinite in mercy and grace grant us all wisdom and courage to work together to serve our motherland, Ghana, and Fomena Constituency. 

"God bless our homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong," he added.
