Hon. Augustine Ntim will go unopposed in the Offinso North Constituency after aspiring candidate, Vincent Acheampong stepped down on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.

The former Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party for the Offinso North Constituency picked and filed his nomination form to contest the incumbent MP Hon. Augustine Ntim for the seat during the parliamentary primaries.

 

 

 

On Wednesday, March 4, 2020 during the vetting process at the Hasta Lodge, Santasi. During a press briefing, General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. John Boadu announced that, “Vincent has decided to withdraw his candidature and put his weight and everything behind first, the constituency and the Member of Parliament.”

“Offinso North have also shown that we still have men of valor, men that are loyal and love the party. At the close of nomination, two people picked form to contest on the ticket of the party. The Honorable Member of parliament and one Vincent Acheampong,” he said.

“In the process of vetting, Vincent Acheampong has decided to withdraw his candidature and put his weight and everything behind first, the constituency and the Member of Parliament. On this note, Vincent Acheampong who used to be the vice chairman of the party has been reinstated at Offinso north constituency.

The party commended Vincent for putting party interest first and entreated members to learn from the dedication of the former Offinso North aspiring candidate.

 

 

“We want to use this opportunity to advise all member so our party that the part is bigger than individual ambitions and interest, and by this, we want to extend out congrats to our brother, Vincent Acheampong for the yeoman’s job and the love he has shown for the NPP and the people of Offinso North”, he said

Vincent Acheampong addressed that his decision was based on party interest and after “a second thought, he decided to let the MP go unopposed.”
