The information available to Soireenews.com indicates that the heavy rains on Saturday, June 18, 2022, have rendered hundreds homeless in Assin Andoe.
The 3 hours of torrential rains during the weekend heavy downpour caused dangerous flooding at Assin Andoe in the Assin South District of the Central Region when River Okyi blocked Assin Fosu to Cape Coast Highway.
This online news portal gathered that no vehicle was able to cross the road until 12 hours after the flooding which covered the whole Okyi Bridge at the said highway was settled.

The commuters were left stranded because such an incident happened somewhere in 2012.
The torrential rains, according to the information gathered also wreaked havoc in several homes in Assin Fosu and its adjoining communities.
The flood described by many as unprecedented was catastrophic in flood-prone areas such as New road, SDA, Breman, and suburb areas such as Assin Odumase.
The road leading to Assin Odumase has been washed away and rendered impassable by motorists amid heavy vehicular traffic for hours.
Information gathered by this reporter indicates that over 300 affected residents blamed the situation largely on poor drainage systems.
Others also blamed it on the three years of abandoned ring road leaving uncompleted bridge construction unattended hence causing a heavy flood and narrowness of gutters in the area considering the volumes of water from nearby rivers.
Lamented over the situation, the affected residents, particularly the farmers called on authorities to desist from the slow pace method used to solve perennial problems in the district.
