Headies Awards 2019: Meet all the winners at the 13th Edition of the Music Award
The Headies Awards 2019, which was held on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos has awarded the best performing artistes for the year
The Headies Awards 2019 was held at the Eko Convention center on Saturday, October 19, 2019, it started with red carpet at 7pm.
Nancy Isime, Nollywood Actress and TV presenter, and rap star, Reminisce hosted the 13th edition of the Headies, formerly known as the Hip Hop World award.
Below are the winners of the 13th edition of the Headies.
1. ROOKIE OF THE YEAR:
Barry Jhay emerged the winner with the highest votes. The nominees were Crayon, Buju, Barry Jhay, Oxlade.
2. BEST VOCAL PERFORMANCE (MALE)
Wurld, the singer of Wishes and Butterfly won the best vocal performance artist. Nominees were Tay Iwar – ‘Utero’, Johnny Drille – ‘Finding Efe’, Nonso Bassey – ‘411’, Funbi – ‘Serenade'', Wurld - ‘Wishes & Butterfly’
3. BEST STREET-HOP ARTISTE
After the voting for the artiste whose songs inspired by the streets, Chinko Ekun - Able God, emerged the winner. Nominees were: Erigga – ‘Motivation, Chinko Ekun – ‘Able God', Zlatan – ‘Leg Work’, Barry Jhay – ‘Aiye' Lyta – ‘Time’
4. BEST RECORDING OF THE YEAR
Teni-Uyo Meyo emerged the winner of the 2019 Headies Awards. Nominees: Adekunle Gold – Ire
