Ghanaian artiste and the Artiste of the Year at the 2020 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Kuami Eugene has finally replied colleague, GuruNKZ, who claimed that he should not have won the award ahead of Sarkodie.

Guru had earlier insinuated that only foul play could allow Kuami Eugene to have bested Sarkodie at the awards while he blatantly suggested that the organizers of the VGMA were guilty of cheating.

"The only year under review ????me GURU????kind of support Sarkodie to win artist of the year
Masa give back His award wai????anyway congrats My Fadama Boy ade3 wo fie aa oy3"

Kuami Eugene has now explained that Guru has every right to have said what he said since everyone is entitled to his opinion.

According to him, people would still say negative things no matter who had won the award because everyone can never agree when it comes to things like this.

“If Sarkodie had won it, people would have said he doesn’t deserve it. If Kofi Kinaata had won it, people from Sark’s camp would have said he didn’t deserve it. And the same way you are saying it, there are a lot of people out there who are saying that finally, this boy has gotten what he deserves. You have hidden it from him for long," he said.

“So like I’m saying, it’s both ways. No matter what this is Ghana. We are opinionated. People like to express themselves so I understand where Guru is coming from he has every right to express his opinion and if he feels that way, he has every right,”

Kuami Eugene further stated on TV Africa with host Roselyn Felli on September 1st, 2020, that he still has "mad love" for Guru despite his spiteful remarks. He made known that he looked up to him during the early stages of his career.

When asked if he would do a song with Guru if he had the chance he said: “Yes, I would love to work with him, I still got mad love for him tho”
