Gun Shot At Ofoase Zongo: Youth Demand Justice For Killing And  Injuried Victims

Hundreds of Zongo youth in Ofoase in the Achimansa District of the Eastern Region are demanding justice for 21-year-old young man who has been shot dead and four (4) injured in a clash between the youths of Ofoase Zongo and Brenase in the Eastern Region on Thursday July 28, 2022.

Hundreds of Zongo youth in Ofoase in the Achimansa District of the Eastern Region are demanding justice for 21-year-old young man who has been shot dead and four (4) injured in a clash between the youths of Ofoase Zongo and Brenase in the Eastern Region on Thursday July 28, 2022.
The people are calling on the President of Ghana, Ministers of State, Parliament, human right organisations and the clergy to add their voices to the clarion call to demand justice for the deceased and four persons who were shot during the incident.
According to sources, the clash was a result of growing tension between residents of the two towns. The tension developed after some youth of Ofoase Zongo reportedly brutalised a young man from Brenase. The young man is alleged to have beaten a member of the Zongo community and caused damage to his motorbike.
The father of the victim and one other who went to the community upon hearing the incident were also attacked and handed over to the Police.
The series of events agitated the Brenase youth, however, their attempt to retaliate was foiled by the intervention of the Police.
On Wednesday, Brenase youth reportedly ambushed the Ofoase Zongo youth and allegedly opened fire on them leading to the casualty.
However,  hundreds of Zongo youth in the Ofoase community in the Achimansa District of the Eastern Region have held a press conference to set the records straight on instances that led to last week's conflict and subsequent gun shooting and machete assaults on some residents in Ofoase Zongo.
Addressing the journalists on behalf of the Zongo youth,General Buhari Abubakari
noted that an intelligent picked by the Zongo youth on the hide out of a notorious armed robbery leader and criminal by name Cobby and his subsequent arrest and handing over to the Ofoase police, motivated the father of the arrested ring leader to mobilize his members in two tricycles with guns and machetes to attack the residents in the Ofoase Zongo.
General Buhari further stated that, another successful effort made by the Ofoase Zongo youth to arrest the father of the ring leader and two other members belonging to Cobby's group and subsequent handing over to the police resulted in the attack and destruction of several meals, mobile phone businesses and other trade activities belonging  to residents of the Ofoase Zongo community by the remaining group members of the said gang. 
According to the spokesperson to the Ofoase Zongo youth, an attempt by his brothers to defend the destruction of businesses of their brothers, sisters and mother's by these group members resulted in the conflict and shooting to death of one and butchering of several other youth by the gang members who were  armed.
He has therefore on behalf of the Zongo youth refuted claims by some radio and online news portals indicting them as initiators of the violence and called on the government, IGP and other stakeholders to intervene and deliver justice for their affected brothers in order to being calm to the area.
Madam Anyana Lucky, the mother of the 21 year old young man who was shot to death in the conflict said, her son was the bread winner of their family and couldn't cope with what has happened. 
She is therefore appealing to the government to intervene and deliver justice for her son  .
Sharadima, the gentleman who suffered severe machete wounds also narrated his ordeal and appealed to the authorities to intervene for justice for him and his deceased with wounds barnaged.
