The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has commissioned its Northern Regional Secretariat and Guest House in the city of Tamale.

In her address at the commissioning, the National President of the Ghana Registered Nurses Association, Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Amofo said, the Association hopes to establish a similar Secretariat and Guest House throughout the regions of the country.

These, according to her would aid in the running of the Association business and also serve as a means of generating income to support their activities.

She revealed that the construction of the building was made possible through the contribution of members of the Association.

"If you are asking you how we have been able to do this, not only in the Northern Region but in other regions as well as the headquarters project at Shiashie in Accra, then kindly know that it has all been made possible through the contributions we all make through the building levy". 

Mrs. Perpetual noted that the edifice is a true reflection of the vision of leadership for the future sustainability of the Association in addressing the welfare needs of members.

She used the occasion to advise members not to allow themselves to be deceived to change different Associations.

She also called on the general public to take advantage of the accessibility of the covid-19 vaccination centers to get vaccinated.

Mrs. Perpetual further charged the leadership of the Association in the Northern Region to take proper care of the facility to attract more clients.

Mr. Abubakari Alhassan, the Northern Regional Chairman of the Association applauded the national executives of the Association for putting such edifice in the region, stating that the facility is exceptional.

He mentioned that a Member of the Association who patronize the Guest House will pay a low price of Gh¢ 50 with a comfortable room which has a standard bed, air-condition, fridge, Wi-Fi and television connected to DSTV.

The Regional Coordinating Director, Alhaji Issahaku Alhassan on behalf of the Northern Regional Minister tasked the Association to scale-out measures on how to sustain the edifice.

Alhaji Issahaku further thanked members of the Association and other health professionals for contributing meaningfully to the health care system in the country.
