Jack Grealish is expected to join Manchester City and the decision will be made clear in the course of the week.

Aston Villa has been offered a £100m offer by Manchester City which was submitted on Friday; Villa are yet to respond to the bid although Sky sports reports they are willing to let their captain go.

His departure will represent the biggest transfer in English football following Paul Pogba’s £93.25m from Juventus in 2016 to rejoin Manchester United.

Sports and transfer Guru, Fabrizio Romano has told that regardless of City’s offer, Aston Villa have prepared a new contract for the Three Lions player should there be a change of mind.

“The situation is really particular. I am told that this week it has to be decided. If Man City don’t sign him this week, he is prepared to sign a new contract with Aston Villa," he told Sky Sports.

“I am interested to see what happens in the coming hours – because I am told the player is waiting to see what happens between the two clubs. City have a contract ready, and so do Villa.

“I expect Man City to continue pushing – they were really confident over the weekend, now it’s time to complete the deal.

“I think things will become clearer over the next few hours.”

The 25-year old despite his transfer rumours was in high spirits as he joined mates at training to take part in stretching exercises.
