The Minister of State in charge of Works and Housing, Dr Freda Prempeh (MP) has said the government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo is to embark on a nationwide affordable housing project to help deal with the housing deficits challenges facing the country.

The challenge according to the Minister has been affecting the country economically hence the need for government to swiftly intervene.

Dr Fredah Prempeh disclosed this in an Ark FM interview monitored by Soiree News after she visited the Omanhene of the Goaso Traditional Area to acquire lands for the same project to be conducted in the area for the Ahafo Region.

The Minister of State in charge of Works and Housing Ministry, Dr Freda Prempeh (MP), yesterday May 11 paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of Goaso Traditional Area and the Ahafo Regional Minister to solicit for lands for an intended affordable housing project.

Honourable Dr Freda Prempeh, explaining the project indicated that the Ministry intends to ease the pressure of housing across the country, especially in the newly created Region.

She indicated that government will collaborate with the private sector to ensure the successful completion of the project.

She added that local content, in terms of materials, technology and personnel shall be employed in constructing the project.

She expressed gratitude to Nana Kwasi Bosompra for demarcating his land for such a big project. She also assured of a 25 acre land from the Regional Coordinating Council.

 Honourable Dr Freda was accompanied by her team from the housing directorate of the ministry, the Ahafo Regional Minister Hon. George Boakye and the Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Yaw Osei Boahen.

The visit follows a similar visit to the Bono Region last week.
