THE MEMBER of Parliament (MP) for Asene-Manso-Akroso Constituency in the Eastern Region, Honourable George Kwame Aboagye, has stated that he has developed spirit of habit of financially supporting the vulnerable persons in Ghanaian society before he was even elected an MP. 


He added that caring for widows, orphans, poor and those who are in need in the society are privileges he has been taken since his life time.
"Giving back or supporting the aged, widows orphans and other vulnerable groups are my sustained initiatives l have been doing in my life time before l have even elected the Member of Parliament for the area," Mr Aboagye disclosed.


According to Mr.Aboagye, he has lobbied or solicited for funds from various individual personalities and organisatios to give financial support to the aged, widows and orphans including other vulnerable persons who are completely based in his constituency.

He pointed out that when he was elected for the past six years ago, he has continued this already existence initiative by way of setting aside the Christmas holiday to give back to all quality less privileged persons in the society.
 
To ensure transparent of the initiative and devoid of any confrontation, the MP stated categorically that he gave a quota system to the polling station executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) within the Asene-Manso-Akroso Constituency who are in charge of selection processes of the beneciaries.

He noted that he made clear to the selection executives to equally use the the quota system to select aged who are mainly 70-years and also the various widows who are in the need and that they also have to base in the Asene-Manso-Akroso Constituency.
 
The MP pointed out that the selection processes of the beneciaries were devoid of political lines, saying that being a loyal and law abiding citizen,he equally gives humanitarian supports to everybody who are living in his constituency.

Mr Aboagye disclosed these in an interview with Soireenews com at the sidelines when he has organized a programme to fete over 4,000 aged women and widows and provided them with food items as part of activities to mark this year's 22 Christmas and New Year celebrations.
 
The items were handed out on Christmas Day, Sunday December 25, 2022 at the Akroso in the Eastern Region and marked the climax of a week-long event by the MP to bring Christmas cheer to the less privileged in the Ghanaian society.
 
The MP who is popularly called Oluwaa has  donated items like pieces of clothes, bags of rice and oil to about 4000 aged and widows in his constituency.
This is the MP annual initiative, ostensibly to give back to the less privileged in the society and that he has been performing this annual event since he has become the MP in the constitueny.
 
Speaking in a n interview with Soireenews. com, Mr Aboagye stated that he realized that most at times widows and aged are neglected as they found difficult to celebrate the Christmas festivity as is expected.
"As MP, he has taken it upon himself to do something for them also every year so that they can also feel better," Mr. Aboagye noted and urged corporate Ghana to give back to the less privileged in society.
 
According to the MP, he has been feeding widows and aged since he represented the constituents but it was a herculean task which can only be undertaken constituency with the support of all corporate bodies in the country.

“He has been doing this consistently for many years in the area and I will urge others to emulate what l have been doing for the less privileged across the  constituency,” he said.
 
He called on his constituents to pray to the Almighty God to ensure the reviving of the Ghana's economy.

The MP was of the view that Ghananias should have hope in the government since it has taken contingency measures to bring back the country's economy to its good shape.
Some of the beneficiaries couldn’t hide their joy and thanked the MP very much for the support he has been given to them every year.
