With the recent boom in the stock of rock music, Ghanaian Afro-rock band tagged 'Dark Suburb' have decided to launch a reality show titled 'Band Culture'.

The show will be dedicated to fishing out the hidden talents in Ghana and it is set to start sometime in October inside Accra. The program will run for 12 weeks at the end of which the victorious music band will walk away with the sum of GHC50,000.

Kankam Bazin, lead singer, and spokesperson for Dark Suburb announced the details of the show at a press briefing organized by the group on June 1, 2020. He said the main focus of the program is to cater for developing talents from the Zongo and other ghetto communities.

According to him, Zongo is in focus because the Dark Subrub emerged from that particular community and also because band music is one of the means through which employment can be created for the deprived youth.

“Dark Suburb is a concept on its own and we have developed a concept which is like a reality TV show to push a culture of bands in the country. In ghettos or Zongo, there are a lot of people that when opportunities are exposed to them, the country will go far. We saw their hardship and we realized that no NGO can solve the problem of the Zongo youth.” He explained.

The 'Band Culture’ reality show will be powered by Awake TV
