GHS Director urges health professionals to accept postings to Ahafo Region

The Director-General of Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye has appealed to health workers to accept postings to the Ahafo region.

The Director-General of Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye has appealed to health workers to accept postings to the Ahafo region.

According to him, the Ghana Health Service has put in place adequate measures to accommodate any health professional who would accept postings to the Region.

“The Region is in dire need of health professionals and we have resolved to allow anyone who wants to further his or her education after three years,” Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye stated.

He made the appeal during the 2020 annual performance review conference held on the theme, “Improving Quality healthcare delivery focusing on maternal and child health in Ahafo Region, the role of service providers and stakeholders”.

The conference would among others, assess the performance of health facilities in the Region, identify challenges, achievements, and the way forward

Mr. George Yaw Boakye, the Ahafo Regional Minister at the event urged the health personnel to face the challenge by exhibiting the highest form of professionalism

I will task the District Assembly's to provide incentive packages for health workers especially, in the critical areas to ensure quality health service delivery,” he specified.

“To accept to serve in a deprived area is the greatest service that health personnel can render to the country,” he added.
