Akoo Nana claims Ghanaians love and support for Shatta and Stonebwoy is so massive that if they are to hold a separate oncert on the same day of the Vodafone Music Ghana Awards, people will patronise their concert and not attend the awards.

Akoo Nana made this claim on the back of the decision to ban Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy from the award scheme by the organisers of the VGMA, Charterhouse.

The two artistes were banned indefinitely and stripped of all awards they won at the 2019 edition after they got into a brawl on the night.

He spoke to Sammy Kay, in a sideline interview at the launch of Trace Jama.

He expressed his disappointment at the decision as he believes the two artistes should have been handed a minimal punishment instead of the harsh ban placed on them.

He affirmed that  Shatta and Stonebwoy were strong representatives of Ghanaian music as they always keep the Ghanaian flag flying high.

The Ace crooner therefore urged the organisers to rethink the complete eviction of the two artistes, asking for the ban to be lifted on both individuals.

Although Shatta's Manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah-Hanson, a.k.a Bulldog, has said that his artiste, Shatta Wale, has outgrown the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in the first place

Bulldog has adviced Shatta to not rejoin the scheme even if the ban were to be lifted. In an interview on 3FM's Showbiz 927 he said:

The transparency level is low when it comes to Ghana Music Awards... I've worked at Charterhouse and when I was there I had concerns... I would personally advise him not to come back to the awards scheme... If he gets a a change of heart as we do in the future, that's his decision.

Akoo Nana does not go along with that as the businessman cum musician believes that lifting the ban and would be the best decision for all the parties involved.
