TV presenter, Afia Schwarzenegger, who has made a name for herself by wading controversies has admonished Ghanaians to stop supporting celebrities only after they have passed on advising on the need to appreciate and show love to their stars while they are still alive instead of flooding social media with fake messages of love and honour after their deaths.

She made these statement with regards to how Ghanaians have been pouring out tributes for the late Bernard Nyarko, stating that she has been appalled thus far at how people have flocked to social media to mourn the former actor, crying crocodile tears and making long speeches when in fact they did nothing to help him while he was alive.

"Why do we as Ghanaians love the dead this much? I remember when the man was sick, we heard his colleagues claimed they tried to call him and didn’t get any response, but still they were able to hear it when he died. Show love to people when they are alive because what I have observed is that the only time the whole Ghana comes together to show you love is when you have died,” she wrote.

Perhaps she was speaking out of agony for her own current situation, because the part time comedian claimed that she herself has been feeling under the weather for a while but no one has called to check up on her. She claimed of been absolutely sure that if she passes on, there would be people that will show her "lots of love" on social media.

Bishop Bernard Nyarko was reported to have passed on Saturday, May 2, 2020.The news of his demise came as a shock to Ghanaians with most taking to social media to mourn him. He announced his retirement from acting to be a full-time preacher after he seriously took ill.
