Hailliote Sumney, the Canadian-born Ghanaian actress has stated that most individuals in the Ghanaian movie industry only think about themselves.

According to her, this is why the Nigerian movie industry will always be far ahead of its Ghanaian counterpart because actors in the Nigerian movie industry care about the development of each other.

She said this while speaking in an interview with GhBase TV. Despite her experiences in the hands of "wicked Ghanaian producers", she claimed that she enjoys working with both Nigerian and Ghanaian movie directors and producers.

Hailliote Sumney Stated that the Nigerian industry is also ahead because of the devout supports it gets from the Nigerian government and thereby advised stakeholders in the industry to work towards achieving a common goal than to always take advantage of others.

"As a Ghanaian, I feel like I didn't get much support. It was hard to break in the movie industry in Ghana. One thing I would say is that they turn to use the same people and the same faces over and over."

She made known that if the Ghanaian government follows the blueprint laid down by the Nigerian government particularly into movie making, the collapsed industry will bounce back.

"I think the Ghanaian movie industry is not getting enough support as they should. There is a lack of unity and support from the government that’s why we are not there yet. I love working with Nollywood because they have everything Ghana movie industry doesn’t have. We (Ghana) have a lot of work to do if we want to succeed”.
