Football fans in Ghana have been given the green light to return to stadium to support their respective clubs after weeks of playing matches behind closed doors.

Supporters are obliged to observe all the protocols of COVID-19.

In the president's address to the nation on September 20th on the measures put in place to curtail the spread of covid-19, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo announced that some contact sports activities including football can resume with 25% of stadium capacity filled by supporters.

The decision was however squashed by the government after the country covid-19 numbers rose significantly.

 Football loving fans and well-meaning Ghanaians have since then, called on the government to ease the restrictions and allow fans back in the stadiums but all attempts proved futile.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, signed by the Minister, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah and sighted by soireenews.com on Wednesday, December 5, 2020, reveals that the restrictions have been eased with 25% capacity of the stadia allowed to be filled by supporters whiles strictly observing all covid-19 protocol.
