The Minister for Trade and Industries, Honorable Alan Kyeremateng has assured that within the next three years, Ghana will commence the production of aluminium and steel from its own bauxite and ore industries which will serve as raw materials for local manufacturing companies to help boost the Ghanaian economy.

“There are lots of benefits the country will derive from our oil and gas sector.  The creation of the petrochemical industry will help provide raw materials needed by New Okaff Industries (a manufacturing company in the Ashanti Region) for production and there won’t be the need to import any from foreign countries.

“The petrochemical industry will give us materials to produce paints, bitumen, plastics for the country. I can assure Ghanaians that within the next three years, we will be producing aluminium from its own bauxite and steel from our iron ore industry. This will make the production of cars easier in our country,” he said.
