Ghana traders strike to protest against inflation

Accra, the capital of Ghana, has seen the start of a multi-day walkout by traders in opposition to the deteriorating economic situation.

This year, the value of Ghana's currency has dropped significantly, and the annual inflation rate has reached 37%.

President Nana Akufo-administration Addo has attributed the issues to external causes including the Covid epidemic and the crisis in Ukraine.

University instructors in Ghana went on strike on Monday, claiming they hadn't received their vehicle allowance.
