Ghana Health Ministry Cleared To Employ Over 8,000 Nurses

Ghana's Ministry of Health (MoH) has been granted financial clearance to employ 8,073 Nurse Assitant Clinical and Nurse Assistant Preventives.

A letter from the Ministry of Finance dated June 9, 2020, to the MoH said, the sector has been given the greenlight to post these health workers from the batch that completed in 2017.

However, “the effective date of appointment should not be earlier than 1st November, 2020” the letter signed by the Deputy Finance Minister, Abena Osei-Opare said.

This comes after some aggrieved graduate nurses threatened to demonstrate over government’s failure to provide clearance for their posting.
