GH¢ 10,000 bounty on the killer of Karaga DCE's driver

The Northern Police Command has kept a ransom of GH¢ 10,000 on the perpetrators who killed the Karaga DCE driver.

On the 29 of May 2021, an unknown man shot the DCE driver.

In a press briefing today at the Northern Regional Police headquarters, Tamale. The Regional Commander, COP Mr. Timothy Yoosa Bonga said, at the hours of 6:30 pm on 29th of May, 2021, the police received a distressed call to the effect that some unidentified armed men shot and killed the Karaga DCE driver name Issah Ziblim aged about 44 years on the Yemo to Karaga road. The driver was on his way from Tamale to Karaga on an SUV white Nissan Patrol vehicle with registration number GT 8459- 19 when the unfortunate incident occurred.

When the police proceeded to the scene, a few kilometers to Yemo near Karaga, they found the vehicle parked off the road with the engine running. On inspection, the lifeless body of the driver was found lying on the driver's seat with bullet wounds on the head. Police searched the scene and retrieve four " AAA 32G" empty cartridges on the ground.

The vehicle was ransacked and the driver's mobile phone and some documents were taken from it. The DCE indicated that some office correspondence and others documents in the vehicle were missing.

The body was conveyed to Tamale Teaching Hospital for autopsy while the vehicles have been taken to the station for investigation.

The Police said they need information from the public to help trace and arrest the perpetrators of this heinous crime. They appeal to the general public and particularly people of the communities along the route from Tampion, Yemo, Karaga- Yapala to Karaga and beyond to assist with information in their efforts to arrest the suspects.

The Northern Police command is offering a cash reward of up to GH¢ 10,000 for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of this crime.
