"I want to make clear to the general public that, the motive behind “Operation Clean Your Frontage” was spelt clear and that it is not to get people arrested but rather, to enable people to understand the concept and get themselves involved in the campaign to make Accra clean environment,"  the GAR Minster reaffirmed.
Mr. Quartey was speaking in an interview with some journalists on the sideline during an engagement of the various Assemblies in the region to present their action plan towards the commencement of the campaign.
He stressed that the people cannot just get up and implement something without engaging the people and expecting that it would work.
According to him, there is the need to always engage with the people and educate them to understand the policy to be implemented so that, they would be part of it and take it as part of their responsibilities.

“I am not to do the work alone. I lead in the beginning so that people would understand but now, the MMDCEs have taken charge of the work and I would stay behind," he stated.
He urged the citizens not to wait for the Assemblies or the Taskforce to come and tell them to clean their frontage before they do, and urge the media to support the exercise.
The awareness creation according to Hon. Henry Quartey is gaining ground saying, people are beginning to understand and urge everybody to come on board.
The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, the sector Minister revealed, would be purchasing trucks and Bulldozers and gave them to the Assemblies for use when requested but said, the Assemblies would buy their fuel and also, bear the cost of damages that may occur to the trucks and bulldozers.
“People say, I am relaxed. No, I am not relaxed but in every Town, there is a culture. If you would be noticed, since December, our Mothers have been allowed to sell because of the Christmas and now it is over,” he noted.
