Ga South Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) in the Greater Accra Region has tightened the implementation of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic protocols in the various electoral areas within the municipality.

Following this development, the MUSEC has placed a ban on the celebration of the 2021 Homowo Festival Celebration due to its increase and long unending chieftaincy dispute which normally leads to gunshot wounds of some innocent individuals.

The Chairman of Ga South Municipal Security Council who doubles as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) stressed that his outfit is ensuring the strict compliance of all the coronavirus protocols in the municipality in order to curb the spread of the virus.

He has issued a number of instructions to that effect.

The MCE stressed that there should be mandatory adherence to all Covid-19 safety protocols at all events in public places and spaces in the municipality.

Mr Nyarni revealed that any group of people who have made their minds to create mayhem or go contrary to the ban will be arrested and prosecuted before the court.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM monitored by Soireenews, Joseph Nyarni who is Ga by tribe indicated that, they have human face security management strategies to deal with trouble makers in the municipality this coming Saturday. 

He made known that the Assembly and all security council would embark on routine checks at public places i.e school, lorry stations, and markets especially in commercial transports (trotros) to ensure that there is strict compliances.

Mr Nyarni disclosed the MUSEC has handed some goodies to the Traditional authorities to used for the sprinkling of Ga Kpokpoi.

For his part, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfrom Constituency, Hon. Sylvester Tetteh cautioned chiefs and other traditional office holders to perform the sprinkling of Kpokpoi inside their house and not outside to prevent clashes. 

Sylvester Tetteh also appealed to chiefs to stop spending all their time in court in the connection of chieftaincy dispute but rather work towards development. 

The Chief of Ngleshie Amanfrom, Bii Kwashie Gbolor appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Addo-Addo and IGP to give maximum protection to reduce killing and attacks of chiefs and other traditional office holders in the Ga state.
