Ga Mantse Urges Healthy Living;  Embarks On Fitness Walk For Homowo

Paramount Chief of Ga State in the Greater Accra Region, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II,has embarked on a health walk exercise to keep fit and maintain good health as part of activities to mark this year’s ‘Homowo’ festival celebration.

Paramount Chief of Ga State in the Greater Accra Region, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II,has embarked on a health walk exercise to keep fit and maintain good health as part of activities to mark this year’s ‘Homowo’ festival celebration.

The Ga Mantse Health walk which was an annual event saw mostly citizens of the Ga Mashie out in their numbers with the aged, youth participating in the about six hours walk.
Dubbed: "2022 Ga Homowo Unity Health Walk, the exercise was aimed at creating awareness on the need to exercise and also to keep the youth fit to usher them into the main Homowo.

Speaking in an interview with some journalists after the exercise, the King of the Ga State
expressed satisfaction with the turn-out and called for the citizens of the Ga State to ensure a common purpose of unity to ensure the overall development of the Ga state.
His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II pointed out that it was relevant for the youth to exercise and keep fit to improve the quality of their health since they have not been engaging in regular exercise, adding that “the walk was also to remind the people of the upcoming Howomo festival.”

He explained that the festival was fast approaching and the community needed the youth to be in shape to fully participant in the celebrations, hence the walk.
Health screening, boxing, soccer, clean up exercises and other activities, the Ga Mantse noted, were scheduled within the week to set the tone for the celebration.

The Mantse appealed to the citizens, particularly the youth of Ga State to help make the season’s festival free from violence and encouraged them to stay focus and united to make the celebration a success.
He stressed that “do not allow anyone to divide the Ga State into two with their wealth, know that we are one people and united we stand but divided we fall.”
