The furniture deficit has hit Tamale Technical University (TaTU) in the Northern Region.

Students are compelled to be on their feet during lectures, whilst some sit on the bare floor to study out of frustrations, Soiree News.com can confirm.

For a decade now, students of the Technical University have wallowed in unfavorable academic conditions.

Those with health challenges often quit lectures following the unfit situation.

During the SN24 visit to TaTu, this portal spotted several students moving around the campus in search of furniture to sit for lectures. Some students were seen seated in pairs, during lectures.

This year's batch (level 100) had compounded the already existing problem.

The Institution is also facing lecture hall problems, most of the lecture halls get overcrowded whenever lectures are in progress.

Currently, the institution runs a shift system where students wait outside the lecture halls for their colleagues to finish their lessons before they could take their turn.

Some first-year students who spoke with SN24 News revealed that they were not matriculated therefore feel unwelcomed.
