At the Vodafone and the MTN offices today Thursday, the subscribers were patiently waiting for their turn, but however, complain of the low pace of the registration process.

Some of them claimed they have been in the queue for hours, whilst others said they visited the centre yesterday and had still not registered.

At the Vodafone office, some of the subscribers who spoke to Soireenews appealed to the management of the Telecos to open more centres to help ease the pressure and the long queues.

"We wish the Telecos will open more centres or even employ some people to go round public events and worshipping centres to register people, some of us have not gone to work today because we just want to get our SIM cards registered before the dead which is in December".

Meanwhile, other subscribers visited the centres for different

reasons especially those with challenges with their mobile money.

The Minister of Communication, Ursula Owusu Ekuful before the registration said the exercise will begin on 1st October 2021 and then end on 31st March 2022.

Any SIM which is not registered at the end of this exercise will be blocked, according to the Minister.

The SIM card registration is in a bid to rid the country’s cyberspace of fraud, monitor and track down persons who use their phones for criminal activities
