On the island of Djerba in Tunisia, the heads of French-speaking nations met to examine the rising unrest in the continent's francophone nations.

The group's leader, Louise Mushikiwabo, claimed that lengthy discussions about the main conflict zones had taken place.

The group, according to her, may help and expedite efforts "to mediate between parties in conflict."
