French air investigators arrive for Tanzania probe

Following the Sunday jet disaster in Lake Victoria not far from the town of Bukoba, French experts in civil aviation safety inquiry have already been sent to Tanzania.

The team from France's Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety will participate in the aviation crash investigation, according to a statement by the French High Commissioner Nabil Hajlaoui.

Another technical advisory group from the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer, ATR, was en route to Tanzania on Monday to look into the disaster.

Two significant European aviation companies, Airbus and Leonardo, built the aircraft that Precision Air was using.

There were 43 passengers on board, and the collision claimed the lives of at least 19.

Tanzanian authorities have also launched an in-depth investigation and say the findings will be made public.
