Karim Benzema has been called back to French National Team after being expelled for the past six years.

The taskmaster of the French National Team Didier Deschamps has named his 26-man squad for the upcoming European championship.

Reports reveal that the 1998 World Cup winner, Deschamps will drop Anthony Joran Martial and replace him with Benzema in the upcoming European Championship.

The Manchester United striker has been a regular in the side but injured his knee while on international duty at the end of March, and reports suggest that he would be missing the remainder of the season.

But the 25-year-old United striker returned to the Old Trafford training in the past few days and there are even suggestions he could make the squad for the Europa League final in a weeks’ time.

Despite Martial nearing a return, Deschamps is unwilling to take a risk on a player who has been out of action for two months and will not be bringing him to the Euros.

“Anthony Martial would have been here but he is not available,”

“His condition does not allow it,”

“I think the squad list a year ago would not have been the one I have today.” Explained by the French manager on Tuesday as he revealed his 26-man squad.

This is the first time in six years that the Real Madrid forward is returning to the National Team.

The 33-year-old has not featured for his nation since 2015 when he was investigated for his alleged involvement in a sex tape blackmail plot against former France teammate Matthieu Valbuena, with Deschamps furious with Benzema and labelling his actions ‘unacceptable’.

Even though, the French boss made it clear that Benzema would never play for the Nation so long as he is in charge but Didier has made a u-turn in considering the Madrid forward back in the team setup.
