Erstwhile UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Valasquez has confirmed he is set for a return to the wrestling ring after his disappointing WWE stint.

The ex-UFC heavyweight champion was released by WWE in April last year in what appeared to be due to further coronavirus cut-backs.

Velasquez debuted on the FOX SmackDown premiere to confront Brock Lesnar, the man he defeats for the UFC title nearly a decade earlier in October 2019.

He then went on to lose to ‘The Beast Incarnate – Brock Lesnar in less than three minutes at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia later that month.

That was his only televised WWE match before he underwent knee surgery.

Now during an appearance on the In ‘This Corner Podcast’, the star has revealed he'll be competing for the AAA promotion.

 “I'm doing a show in December for AAA.

“I love AAA and I'm going to keep doing that right now.

“I love WWE as well, but I have to develop myself in order for me to go out there.

“I'm going to keep doing stuff and have fun with it,” Velasquez said.
