Following the discovery of foot-and-mouth disease, Mozambique has banned Zimbabwean meat.

Following a return of the foot-and-mouth disease in Zimbabwe, Mozambique has banned the import of animals, animal goods, and animal by-products from that nation.

The importation of fodder for cattle, goats, pigs, and sheep has also been prohibited.

It follows the confirmation by Zimbabwean officials of an outbreak of the disease in the Mashonaland Central region, which borders Mozambique.

The agriculture ministry of Mozambique said it would monitor the movement of animals and banned products along the country's main border and ports of road access.

On the border districts, it will also conduct mandatory inspections of all livestock, goats, sheep, and pigs.
