A wretched wooden bridge collapsed at Ahinsan in the Asokwa Municipal of the Ashanti Region on June 25, 2021, during heavy a flood that resulted in the death of a woman who was plying. The challenge has been persistent for some time and received various complaints from residents questioning authorities’ interests towards their concerns.

The bridge was earlier constructed by the Community and its failure has cautioned the Assembly on the need to put up a better solid structure to ease pedestrians stress and traffic flow.

He updated that another bridge at Ahinsan Estate which was built by the Bank of Ghana as part of their social cooperate responsibilities to help them access their facilities will soon be expanded.

“We have heard they have visited the Urban Roads Director, Mr Gambrah and works will soon start,” he said.

Honourable Nana Yaw Wiredu told Soireenews reporter, Isaac Owusu, that if the Assembly refuse to attend to the needs of its residents following their payment of taxes and levies, they lose confidence in the stakeholders which affect the growth of the area.

He encouraged that the Assembly will do whatever is possible to make sure the challenges of people at Ahinsan Estate are resolved to make them unrestricted especially during the night.

“If people pay taxes and they don’t see their problems resolved, it affects their commitment to things of the nation and gives them an ill-perspective about leaders. We don’t want that to happen because these are emergency matters that we want to address as quickly as possible.”
