In her speech, she stated that these days before a woman is appointed to hold a high position in the country, such a person should be well-educate-dated and therefore is a need for girls to take their education seriously.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC),  Professor Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh has encouraged students especially female students to take education seriously because it holds the key to an easy and successful future.

Our country Ghana can develop if the country takes our education sector seriously and the nation must take girls child education.

Prof. Edu Buandoh addressed the people of the chiefs and residents of the Efutu community in the Cape Coast Metropolis of the Central region during the launching of the "Nana Amba Eyiaba Education and Development Fund".

In her speech, she stated that these days before a woman is appointed to hold a high position in the country, such a person should be well-educate-dated and therefore is a need for girls to take their education seriously.

She added that most of the successful women who are now holding high positions in the country and their communities took their education seriously and therefore urged the girls to take their education seriously.

She urged the female students from the Efutu community to take their education very seriously and further made appealed to the community to support the fund to help the children access better education.

Nana Amba Eyiaba l, Queen-mother of Efutu and double as Krontihemaa of Oguaa Traditional Area stated that the aim to set up the education and development funds for the Effutu community is to support the children to get a better education to secure good life in future.

The Queen's mother promised to use the fund to bring developments to the area, especially in the area of education.
