Female teacher Gives a Facelift to Wenchi SDA Basic A school

A female teacher in the Wenchi municipality of the Bono Region, Gifty Twumwaa, has given a facelift to SDA Basic 'A' school.

In an interview, Gifty Twumwaa said she was financed by her husband to improve the appearance of the school.

According to her, the rationale behind the move was to leave a legacy in the school as a teacher.

She added ‘‘when I came to teach in this school I have observed that the school has been battling with a lot of challenges so I decided to paint the school to make teaching and learning attractive to the pupils’’.

Madam Gifty said the environment where pupils study goes along in affecting their academic performance either positive or negative thus, she believes the new look of the school will psychologically boost their morale to learn hard.

Subsequently, a visit to the school by Soiree News revealed that the facility lacks a place of convenience among other amenities.

However, Assembly Member for Ahenfie Electoral Area, who is also the School Management Committee (SMC) Member, Kassim Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the teacher for her benevolence and called on other teachers to also emulate the kind gesture.

Mr. Mohammed also called for support to fence the SDA cluster of schools as stray animals constantly invade school premises. He wants the school to be fenced to prevent the animals from entering the school compound.
