A female teacher has been arrested by the Police in Akyem Kukurantumi, in Abuakwa North Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana, for allegedly crushing a 2-year-old boy to death with her salon car.

The female basic school teacher, an employee of Kukurantumi Methodist Basic School reportedly run over the child identified as Essien Acheampong who was with the mother selling food at the roadside but sneaked onto the street leading to the fatal crash.

The incident occurred on September 1, 2021, at 9:00 am, and the teacher has been arrested to assist Investigation, according to Kukurantumi Police Command.

“A young boy identified as by name Essien Acheampong of about two years of age had met his untimely death after been knocked down by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle who is also a female teacher at Kukurantumi Methodist M/A School  with the Tafo police for further investigation” a witness told the media

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Kukurantumi Community morgue for preservation.
