Jose Mourinho has praised Harry Kane for marking his 200th Premier League appearance for Tottenham Hotspur with a goal that seems to have ignited Spurs hopes to contest in Europe next year.

Tottenham Hotspurs defeated West Ham United by 2-0 on Tuesday night – a Soucek own goal in the 64-minute before Harry Kane’s strike 18-minutes later.

The England captain scored after Son wonderfully played him through-on-goal and he assuredly delivered into the bottom right corner of the net past Fabianski in post.

The win was Spurs first Premier League home game victory since February against Manchester City.

Kane suffered an injury in December 2019 against Southampton and has been excluded from the Spurs team before the coronavirus halt in March.

According to his manager, defining the moment with a goal is as a result of the captain's hard work.

"I'm happy for him. Again, he worked a lot. He worked phenomenal during this period, even in lockdown he did amazing work in his house to recover, and then with us to get in condition to help the team.

"I am happy with lots of things today, first of all the result, then the clean sheet. The team is more solid, the players have less doubt.

"He had the power, the will to go, and then in front of the goalkeeper, I used to say a tired player misses the majority of the time, but facing Fabianski he was Harry, he didn't miss. he's coming back."

The victory moves Spurs up to seventh on 45 points whiles West Ham remains 17th on 27 points.
