According to him, the date announced by the government through the Ministry of communication for the re-registration of SIM cards with only the Ghana card is fast approaching with few of the Ghanaians population being recorded hence the need for government to expand the date to ensure that most Ghanaians are registered.

Extend the SIM Card  Re-registration Deadline  - Assembly Member Appeals To Government
The Assemblymember for Seketia Electoral Area in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region, Mr. George Baah, has appealed to the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to impress upon the Ministry of Communication to prolong the deadline date for the sim cards reregistration exercise that guarantee the merging of SIM Cards to national Ghana cards.
According to him, the date announced by the government through the Ministry of communication for the re-registration of SIM cards with only the Ghana card is fast approaching with few of the Ghanaians population being recorded hence the need for government to expand the date to ensure that most Ghanaians are registered.
The Assembly Member made this appeal during an MTN biometric SIM Card registration exercise in the Jaman North constituency sponsored by Abronoma Foundation, a non-Profit making organization spearheaded by Madam Linda Nyarko Yeboah.
 
Mr. Baah pleaded with the government to support the Telcos in the country to embark on mass Sim card registration exercise to reduce the traveling burden on Ghanaians, particularly the living in the remote areas and the aged who cannot travel to the office of the telcos for the registration
The assembly member stated that most of the people within the country does not have the Ghana card which is the only identification card that guarantees the reregistration of the sim cards,
In this regard, he stressed the need for the government to ensure that more NIA registration centers, equipment, and personnel are deployed to the various NIA registration centers to accelerate the Ghana card registration exercise.
