Executive Director, NCC retires from post

The Executive Director of the National Council on Culture, Madam Jane Edna Nyame has been relieved from her job at the NCC as Executive Director.

This is because Madam Jane Edna Nyame was due for retirement. Her exit was to take effect from the 31st of March 2023. In a letter dated 29th March, 2023 the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture addressed to Madam Nyame indicating her date of retirement. According to the Ministry of Tourism,, Arts and Culture, Madam Nyame's continuous stay at post will be in contravention of relevant laws relating to retirement and post retirement appointment in the public service per the provision in Article 199(1) and 199(4) of the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana. The Ministry further referenced section 4.2b.1(a) of the Human Resource Management Policy framework and manual(HRMPFM) for the Ghana public service stipulating the provisions relating to retirement and post retirement appointment in the public service. The Ministry, while expressing appreciations to Madam Nyame, further advised that to properly handover her duties/responsibilities and any government property in her possession to the Director, Administration before proceeding on retirement by 31st March, 2023.
