Ex-PM is freed by Tunisian court following hunger strike

Hamadi Jebali's attorney reports that a judge has ordered his client's release four days after he was arrested on accusations of money laundering.

Mr. Jebali was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after going on a hunger strike to protest his arrest.

Mr. Jebali belonged to the Ennahda Islamist party, the largest in parliament from 2011 to 2013 when he served as prime minister. The assembly was dissolved and the presidency of Tunisia was taken over by President Kassaed last year.

His detention, according to the party, was a part of an effort to settle political scores.
