The Site Manager for Kofi Job Construction Limited, Atonsu Branch, Mr Osei Assibey Bonsu earlier assured residents of Esereso in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region to exercise patience for works will soon be completed within June and July.

The Esereso Bridge which was part of the Atonsu-Lake Bosomtwi road construction has finally been completed.

The delay in structuring the bridge received various protests by residents for the upset of heightening vehicle fares and increasing the risk of flooding and erosion on the road whenever there is a heavy downpour.

Per the worse of the Site Manager for Kofi Job Construction Limited, Atonsu Branch, Mr Osei Assibey Bonsu, the delay was to make the asset enduring in times of heavy rainy seasons for the safety of occupants, adding that works will be completed within June and July.

Soireenews visit to the site revealed that the bridge has been opened for motorist and pedestrian use. Speaking to the sub-contractor, Salifu Iddrisu of Shadrisu Constructions, although a few areas need attention before concluding works on the bridge, yet cars can freely ply on the connection.

He told that residents at the initial stage had no clue as to what was ongoing yet its near completion has unveiled the original plan of the bridge.

“We are on the finishing stage. There was a problem with the diversion we created earlier and people raged insults at us for the inconveniences it created yet it was nothing new to us. We have been going through this treatment all the time.

"After seeing the real work, the residents are very happy and are commending us for the decent job done,” he said.

He assured that the bridge can accommodate any vehicle due to the quality of materials employed together with the expertise engineers involved.

He disclosed that the recent heavy downpour does not interrupt them for the reason that the foundation has already been laid and raised.

Shaibu Salifu of Shadrisu Construction always pleaded with Ghanaians to exercise patience especially in the commencement stages of road construction.

He revealed that because residents have no clue about road engineering, they attack contractors with words of hurt especially when a decision is taken which goes against their daily road routines.
