The Ashanti Regional Medical Superintendents have met in Obuasi on 6 August  2021, to discuss issues regarding medico-legal for the past five years.

Medical superintendents under the public sector in the Ashanti region at least meet once every year to put in place measures to enhance quality health care in the region.

This year's meeting was focused on medico-Legal issues which is a worry to the entire Ashanti regional public health workers.

The Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr Emmanuel Tenkorang who was present at the meeting said, medico-Legal issues have been a key problem to them since it involves judgement debt, yet he believes that after the meeting held on 6 August in Obuasi, the situation which has been in existence for the past decade will be minimized after concrete measure are been put in place.

In an exclusive interview with Soireenews correspondent Yaw Opoku, the health director cautioned all the medical superintendents together with their staff to be vigilant when it comes to treating their clients for them not to be sued.

Commenting on the state of COVID-19 in the Ashanti region, he said the pandemic still exist and residents should abide by the safety protocols.

On his part, Dr Eric Kwame Detoh, Medical supritendent for Nkawie Toase government hospital is assuring the major stakeholders of making good use of the discussed issues at the meeting to curb medico-Legal issues in the region.
