EPL MD 3: Jota scores on debut, Mane and Robertson help Reds ease past Arsenal; Liverpool 3 - 1 Arsenal
Jota celebrates goal with mates.

Diogo Jota is the 13th Liverpool player to score a Premier League goal under Jurgen Klopp, following his debut for the Reds in the 3-1 win against Arsenal.

Liverpool kept on with their unbeaten home record, getting Mane, Robertson and Jota on the scoresheet to make it three wins out of three.

The Reds began the game very strongly with their intense pressing, confining the Gunners in their area and making defending tough for them.

The first chance fell for Klopp’s men as Naby Keita cut inside onto his right foot and blasted his shot towards goal but it deflected wide off the chest of Holding. Robertson's low set-piece was then met on the full by Salah but he sent the ball into orbit.

Firmino in the 21-minute caught deep to collect from the back before bringing in Robertson down the left. Xhaka got back to make a desperate challenge to deny Salah at the expense of a corner but David Luiz cleared Robertson's set-piece as far as Alexander-Arnold and his shot deflected off Bellerin and onto the woodwork to deny the Reds again.

Arsenal took the lead through Lacazette in the 25-minute from wonderful build-up. The Gunners beat Liverpool’s pressing - Xhaka brought Maitland-Niles onto the ball down the left. Robertson horribly sliced the cross straight to Alexandre Lacazette, who mishit his shot into the ground and over Alisson into the net.

The Reds responded three minutes later after a very good piece of advantage played by referee Craig Pawson. David Luiz fouled Keita but Liverpool were still in possession as Firmino brought in Salah down the right. The Egyptian caught inside Tierney before firing towards goal. Leno parried his effort but it fell kindly for Sadio Mane to tap into the unguarded net.

The Reds continued with possessing and compelled Arsenal, barring the former mistake of Robertson. The Gunners backline struggled to contain the front three which gave Liverpool much energy to keep pushing.

It paid off in the 34-minute – Robertson redeemed himself with a goal. The Scottish took Alexander-Arnold's cross on his chest before coolly lifting the ball over Leno after Bellerin got sucked in and Willian couldn't make up the ground.

Alexander Lacazette could not beat Alisson twice to get Arsenal’s second, beating the Liverpool backline a couple of times in the second half.

A double change was effected for Liverpool as Sadio Mane and Naby Keita made way for James Milner and Diogo Jota, who made his Premier League debut for the Reds.

The former Wolves player powered his shot into the side-netting after he was picked by Salah on the left hand in the Arsenal yard.

After he was denied by Salah from scoring a second, the new boy scored his debut goal at the Kop end.

Alexander-Arnold sent over a cross from the right, Luiz's header fell to Jota on the edge of the box, and Liverpool's new boy took the ball under control before sending a low finish into the bottom corner.
