McGodridge was presented with the best opportunity in the game after Calum chance went wide from eight yards in the 28-minute.

The home side intensified their play in the second half and almost took the lead but an unmarked Bogle in the six-yard box failed to find the net as he forced the goalkeeper to make a stretch and deny an early second-half lead.
The Blades kept on pressing the Magpies but couldn’t find a way through until a penalty was awarded for Chris Wilder’s men after a long ball forward contested between Sharp and Fernandez finally hit the latter.
After a couple of VAR reviews, the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty.
Sharp sent Darlow the wrong way to put the Blades into the lead.
