Liverpool scored two goals in two minutes before the break plus a second-half header from Salah to record 30 Premier League wins in 34 games, quicker than any Premier League club.

The Reds are 96 points on top of the table with 23 points separating them and Manchester City.

Brighton made three changes to the side that beat Norwich 1-0 at the weekend. Yves Bissouma, Aaron Mooy, and Aaron Connolly dropped to the bench and were replaced by Alexis Mac Allister, Dale Stephens and Pascal Gross.

Klopp made four changes bringing in Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino in the side along with Neco Williams, who was handed his first Premier League start after making substitute appearances in the last three league outings.

Salah took his goal tally to 19 when he put in the first goal in 6-minutes.

It was a terrible defensive play from Brighton after Ryan played the ball out to the waiting Propper at that edge of the area but he dallied over what he wanted to do with the ball, allowing Keita to nip in and took it from his feet. A pass towards Firmino was skipped to the Egyptian who slotted home for Liverpool’s opener.

Two minutes later, Jordan Henderson doubled the Reds lead. Keita again took advantage of some sloppy Brighton touches and nicked the ball away from the feet of Stephens in midfield before Firmino was unleashed on a driving run.

He picked out Salah at the top of the area, who was surrounded by defenders, and he laid it off to the waiting - and unmarked - Henderson just outside the box.

He hit a low, hard strike and it once again hammered into the back of the net.

Brighton kept pushing for a goal their efforts were rewarded thanks to Lamptey’s fizzing cross, which was met by an unmarked Trossard inside the area and beautifully converted.

Salah added a third in the 76-minute following Robertson delivered corner. He left his marker Lamptey for dust and drove towards the near post and glanced a header past Ryan.
