Sheffield remains eight on the Premier League table after John Egan scored his first PL goal to earn Sheffield United a 1-1 draw at Burnley.

The Blades have had a poor beginning and have recorded one win in six games including an FA cup 2-1 loss to Arsenal.

Tarkowski put the home side ahead just before half time after Westwood's left-wing free-kick was headed on by Rodriguez. The English international was six yards out to tap home! VAR looked for offside, but McBurnie was just playing him on.

Burnley were on top of the game in the second half yet Sheffield United had the better of the opening minutes forcing Burnley back and dominated the ball. They were close in the 62-minute after Egan fed O'Connell on the left, and his dangerous ball was deflected up off Long, over Sharp, and too far beyond McGoldrick. Osborn took the corner, but Burnley eventually cleared after pinball in the area.

The clarets almost put the game to sleep 19-minutes to end proceedings with a second goal. Jay Rodriguez took the ball down on his chest and shot superbly from 25 yards... It was horrible for Henderson, who had to beat it away, but it was straight into the path of McNeil.

He composed himself, shot low unmarked, but it rolled wide of the far post.

Ten minutes later, the Blades were level on terms with Burnley.

It was a well-worked corner, going short as Osborn picked it up 35 yards out. He dinked it into the box for Sharp, who glanced a clever header back to Egan far post.

The Irish footballer had so much to do but lashed a fine right-footed shot into the top corner past Pope.
