Josh King’s 45-minute game did the damage on Manchester United after recording their fourth defeat in the English Premier League at the Vitality Stadium.

United have lost their fourth in 11 games for the first time since 1990 and have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 11 Premier League away games, their joint-longest run without one on the road in the competition (also 11 between Aug 2002-Jan 2003).

One change for Bournemouth. Harry Wilson returned from the bench to replace Arnaut Groeneveld.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a young bench, with Mason GreenwoodJames Garner and Brandon Williams all included.

United were the more threatening side in the opening minutes as Bournemouth struggled to keep any sort of meaningful possession. A penalty appeal was made by the home side in the 17-minute.

Fraser went down in the box under pressure when the ball was put back into the box after the corner's initially cleared. Young was the man the Bournemouth players want penalized but VAR saw no clear and obvious error as a goal kick was awarded.

Manchester United won a free kick on the right in the 21-minute. Pereira's delivery was low and terrible but a scuffed clearance teased it up for James 20 yards out and he unleashed a shot, which whistled past Ramsdale's left-hand post.

Bournemouth got themselves in some good positions on a handful of occasions but their final ball let them down on every time. United's bright start somewhat fizzled out.

Referee Chris Kavanagh turned down another penalty shout after Martial was sandwiched by Lerma and Cook. He made the most of it and the ref gave a corner.

It all flareD up after Lerma, Smith and Martial were all involved at first before everyone else decided to pile in.

United looked for Dan James whenever they had the ball due to his pace which caused Bournemouth's defence some problems already.

The home side took the lead through King after 358 minutes since their last goal.

Smith's cross from the right was taken by King brilliantly with his back to goal, flicked over Wan-Bissaka's head and volleyed past De Gea! Great finish in the 45-minute.

A big let off in the early stage of the second half as Maguire got a big deflection on Callum Wilson's cross from the right, which De Gea misjudged. It fell down after it bounced off his thigh.

He still got back to his feet as Harry Wilson picked up the loose ball but his weak effort was blocked on its way through.

United kept attacking and finally put the pressure back on Bournemouth. Fred jinked his way through two challenges inside the box but did not get a clean connection on his ball across, although United did keep the ball alive and won a corner.

James' corner was allowed to bounce in the box but there was no-one gambling at the back post and Bournemouth clear. He hooked another decent ball into the box too but the hosts clear.

Bournemouth did their best to ease the pressure but every time a Manchester United attack break down, they won the ball back and attacked again. Fred attempted another ball over the top but there was too much on it.
