English Is No More Language Of Prestige---Dr. Sylvester Kwame Nkrumah
Speaking to Peace/Hello/Beyond Fm Reporter, Kwabena Ntow on Beyond FM Morning Show, Dr Nkrumah said that speaking English is no longer Prestige Language so if one can not express himself or herself in English does not mean the fellow is a dumb but for him he respects anyone who can speak any "Mother Tongue" or Local Languages.

The Director of Ghana Institute Of Linguistics Literacy And Bible Translation (GILLBT), Rev Dr. Sylvester Kwame Nkrumah is counseling all and sundry to start the implementation of the Mother Tongue or Local Languages Policy in all schools.
Speaking to Peace/Hello/Beyond Fm Reporter, Kwabena Ntow on Beyond FM Morning Show, Dr Nkrumah said that speaking English is no longer Prestige Language so if one can not express himself or herself in English does not mean the fellow is a dumb but for him he respects anyone who can speak any "Mother Tongue" or Local Languages.
On his part the Head of Department Of Linguistics Studies at the University of Ghana, Professor Kofi Agyekum-(Opanyin Agyekum) added his voice by saying if a mother fails to teach her child "Mother Tongue" or Local Languages then it means that mother has denied the child his or her right to know Local Languages.
He said that because of speaking of English Language most Parliamentarians are now "Deaf And Dumb" in our Parliament House which is not the best.
